I'm doomed

Ok, maybe not, but it feels that way.

I looked online for the list of textbooks I need. I need 5 books, and the total for buying them new at the university (none of them are offered used) is $491 for FOUR of the books. The fifth does not have a price as of now.

So I am going to look for international versions of the books first and then look on half.com and textbooks.com after that. I have a feeling though, that I won't be able to find one of them anywhere but the university. It is a binder of papers for the accounting class. I *think* it was put together by the teacher. And for some reason it costs $132! Crazy. Keep your fingers crossed that I can find cheap versions of all the books.

Last night fiance and I went shopping. We bought a lot of stuff and the total came to $100.96- the gift certificate was for $100. So we did pretty well. Smile We bought:
-16 piece set of dishes
-Set of three whisks
-Utensil caddy (not needed, but very useful!)
-Hand mixer
-Sheets
-Trash can
-Set of three glass casserole dishes
And I think something else but I can't think of it...

I got a free lunch today. A local deli offers one of those punch cards (buy so many get one free) and I found one on the ground the other day. I added the card I found to the punch card I already had (I frequent this deli) and I was able to get a free sandwich.

I'm off to hunt down some books.

did you try "chegg.com" -you can rent your textbooks instead of purchasing- I have heard nothing but good things about this...

I don't want to rent my textbooks. All of my classes are for my major and minor and I want to keep those books as references for later on. You never know when they may come in handy.

I just paid $95 for three textbooks on Craigslist. The college wanted over $500 new and about $350 used.

    This is a good site -- addall.com

I used bigword.com or bigwords.com. It searches multiple used book sites for the best prices. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I hadn't heard of those sites (and completely forgot about craigslist!) so I will check them out.
