Cost of textbooks so far

May 6th, 2009 at 08:24 pm

I finished buying all of the textbooks I need today.

I bought 4 online (half.com) for $30.40. I ended up saving a couple dollars per book after shipping was included. I did purchase two other books new at the bookstore because I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else. I spend $11.25 on the books. The final book is the most expensive one. Available used at the school for $65, I got it free from a friend of mine who is currently taking the class. If she doesn't remember to give it to me, I can purchase it used of half.com for $40. Either way I save money.

So I spent a total of $41.65 on my textbooks. Had I purchased them through the book store I would have spent $114.25!

Thank you, internet! What would I do without you?

I got lucky this semester, one class there is no book required and the other a friend let me borrow. Try international books they are 3 times less.

Agh! International books! I totally forgot to check those out! Ok, I must make a note to look for international books for the fall. *scribbles*
