Hit with a ton of bricks

July 22nd, 2009 at 01:07 pm

(Removed for now)

Well. To make this post financial related, my fiance and I combined finances yesterday. We now have $9,100 split between a savings account and a CD.

We also need to decide when we will be getting married. And then start saving for the wedding. We both want a very casual wedding. After working numerous weddings, I am very sure I do not want a formal (or even semi-formal) reception. Have the ceremony at the cathedral and the reception at a relative's house is what I'm thinking.

So much talk of weddings right now!

a lot of people are weird about what info they consider private and public. It can lead to some hurt feelings.

Well, privacy is understandable, but here's to hoping that she married a good guy.

I wonder if I did invade her privacy by posting about it. I hope not- I certainly didn't mean to. Facebook is a pretty open site so why put photos of it up if she didn't want others to know? Oh well. I'll delete most of the post for now until I talk to her.

damn, i missed your original post! Frown
but on the weddings front, i understand most people like to get married soon after they get engaged, so on that aspect DF and I are again a bit untraditional - there is no date for the wedding, there is no definate year etc. We know it will be not for up to 5 years, maybe longer, maybe less. I am rather enjoying being engaged at the moment, so I would like that to last a few years too. There's a certain amount of magic in that too, which a lot of people I have known havent appreciate that much, as they've become engaged and then started planning the wedding straight away.
